All applicants must be students enrolled at Texas State University. No other applications will be accepted. ***
All applicants must complete the online form and attach a current resumé.
All applicants applying for multiple positions, can only be hired in up to three departments.
All applicants must provide a personal statement that tells us a little bit about themselves.
KTSW volunteer applicants must have a minimum semester, Texas State & Overall GPA of 2.0 and be an enrolled student. A minimum semester, Texas State & Overall GPA of 2.0 and enrollment at Texas State University must be maintained for the duration of the term as a KTSW employee.

Music Department
KTSW’s Music Department receives new music on a day-to-day basis from various record labels and promoters to add to our library. Our music journalists give these a listen and select the cream of the crop from music's independent and lesser known artists.
News and Culture
The News and Culture department produces its own content. Culture contributors aim to write lifestyle, entertainment and community piece each week, while copy editors use AP Style and PUG to edit material to make the pieces online-ready. News reporters actively produce content reporting on local events in Texas State and the San Marcos Community
Promotions
KTSW is looking for motivated staff members that will be hands on in finding the up and coming artists in the San Marcos area. Our promotions staff find the bands that we spotlight on-air and at our live events. Being apart of this staff means attending live events, promoting the KTSW brand and having close ties to bands and businesses that help KTSW serve the local community.
Sports
KTSW’s Sports Department covers a wide variety of sports from San Marcos High School football to Texas State volleyball, basketball and more. Many sports staff members get their start as Sports Update Writers, then move on to anchor, provide play-by-play and color commentary during games, and host our one-hour talk show: Bobcat Radio. Staff members also learn technical skills by board producing and running remote broadcasts.
Production
KTSW’s Production Department is responsible for everything that goes on between the music and live announcements. They produce elements such as Public Service Announcements, podcasts, promos, legal IDs, and more, using creative sound effects, music and voices.
Social Media
KTSW’s Social Media Department oversees all of our social media outlets, primarily: Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. Our social media content contributors suggest, create and assist in scheduling media postings to promote what is going on at KTSW, at Texas State, and in the community. Join the online face of KTSW!
Web Development- NOT ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS
KTSW's Web Development Department is responsible for having an understanding of the Internet and website hosting, while staying up to date with HTML, CSS, and Content-Management-Systems; while working with other departments to keep the website's content updated and clean. Specifically seeking an individual that can help with the design, coding and implementation of a new website.
Multimedia & Graphics
Multimedia
Multimedia positions are comprised of videographers, photographers, and audio techs for some of our departments. We produce much of the visual and audio content seen on all our social media platforms, including promotional material, collaboration between the content produced in other staffs, and covering musical performances. Through all means of multimedia we showcase San Marcos, Texas State University, and KTSW.
Graphics
KTSW is looking for graphic designers with skills in Adobe Illustrator/other editing systems with an understanding of the KTSW brand. KTSW graphic designers are responsible for creating event flyers, graphics for on air programs, and any graphics needed by the KTSW staff.
