Two Door Cinema Club

            In anticipation of their new album Beacon coming out September 4^th in the U.S, I thought I would take a look at Two Door Cinema Club, along with their first and only release to date Tourist History. Tourist History was released on the 27^th of April in 2010 and since then Two Door Cinema Club has been showing the world what they’re made of. They have absolutely flooded the airwaves in most of Europe and can also be heard here on KTSW. Here’s one of our favorites, “I Can Talk”, which was featuring on the videogames FIFA 2011 and NBA 2011.

            The first single released from Tourist History was “Something Good Can Work” it is not only my favorite track but also the song that may have made them the most popular amongst different types of listeners. The cheery, upbeat introduction is what really drew me into this song. Once you’ve heard it a few times it’s hard not to feel the urge to sing along.

The past two years since the release of Tourist History have definitely left fans hanging on for another album. It’s more than understandable why it’s taken a bit longer than expected, however. Two Door Cinema Club has been playing festivals worldwide such as Coachella, Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, T in the Park and a number of others since the release of their first album. The band has also toured with other big artists like Phoenix, Metronomy, and Foals. With the strong tracks in Tourist History like “Undercover Martyn”, it isn’t a shock they managed to keep up with great bands like these though.

I do have a little bit of worry about the release of Beacon in September simply because with such a rise to fame and first album that nears perfection from start to finish, there is a lot of room for disappointment. However with their track record there is also a lot of hype and excitement that comes with Two Door Cinema Club’s new album Beacon as well. I certainly can’t wait to get my hands on it to see if they’ve released another must have record.
