Austin based Sour Bridges sounds like 5 of your quirkiest, cutest, most musical talented friends showing up on your front porch to play some music. Described as a mixture Texas folk, Appalachian bluegrass, and rock and roll, Workin’ On Leavin’ has deep roots with a home produced sound. Beginning with “Properly Bury Me,” the album finds its niche with guitars, a banjo, honest vocals and sweet backing vocals. Album standouts include “Angela,” “Promiseland,” and “Silvertown.” The whole album is a good time and the band is bound to be a good time live. But with no upcoming shows listed, we’ll just have to wait. If you enjoy bluegrass nights at Tantra, Sour Bridges could be right up your alley. You can see Sour Bridges at Utopiafest on September 27th to the 30th and right here in San Marcos on August 16th at Triple Crown along with Hard Proof Afrobeat and Digital Antique.
