You (Understood) is Samantha Crain’s sophomore album. The album overall is pleasant, but after starting off with its strongest track “Lions,” the rest of the album falls a bit flat until the latter half picks up with the catchy “Up On The Table” and “Wichitalright,” which has a slightly more sinister tone. Oklahoma based Crain is often compared to artists like Joanna Newsom and First Aid Kit, while her vocals are pleasant, there is some shred of uniqueness that seems to be missing. However, You (Understood) is worth a once over.
