Nü Sensae
Sundowning
Canadian punk group Nü Sensae expanded from a duo to trio by adding guitarist Brody McKnight which has majorly paid off in a fuller, more intense sound on this record. Intense is probably the best way to describe this album, with strong guitar, power packed drums, and passionate, although most of the time indistinguishable, vocals. Starting off strong with “Swim,” Nü Sensae quickly displays what they are all about: punk, aggression, and mind melting. On “Tea Swamp Park” the group shows a balance of quiet and loud which manages to make the loud louder in the best possible way. Other standouts include “Tajna” and “Eat Your Mind,” a Sonic Youth-esque track and “Say What You Are,” which is nothing short of eerie. The band is bound to be a hell of a time live but sadly there are no upcoming tour dates.
