Symbolyst is the latest release from the electro-rock instrumental band Lymbyc Systym. Hailing from Tempe, Arizona, brothers Jared and Michael Bell create a synthesis between analog and digital instrumentation, mixing live drums and synths. The second track from the album, “Falconer” stands as brilliant representation of how well they combine their talents and create a well-orchestrated piece.
The third track, “Downtime,” showcases some of the group’s influences, mainly Bernard Fevre’s album “The Strange World of Bernard Fevre.” They create a sci-fi inspired canvas with interludes of funk synth leads while maintain the R&B feeling of the track.
“Falling Together” is the first single from this album and will be in heavy rotation at discotheques on the square and 6th street. Lymbyc Systym showcases their ability to create a dynamic soundscape that still retains a basic and danceable underlying beat.
Overall Symbolyst is a great collection of tracks that will stay in whatever portable music player you have taken a shine to.
