Although the arrangement of the tracks on her demo CD are far superior to the ones on her debut, Jesca Hoop remains one of the best female indie singers out there (THE best, in my opinion). Her voice is deep and mysterious in some ways and in others it’s soothing and angelic. She combines these qualities to create perfect harmonies. Her intricate and beautiful melodies are simply eargasmic (yes, I said it). Each of her songs has a unique sound that literally gives me goose bumps every time I listen to them. Maybe I’m obsessed. Oh, and sometimes she sings with a really weird accent that’s somewhere between British and something I think she made up. Somehow, it works.
