San Marcos’ favorite barista Ian Lee heads up the Fine Fellows along with musicians Errin Keith, Dan Holmes, and Chris Wallis. Opening with “Intention,” Alive & Well kicks off with a heavy rock vibe along with Lee’s vocals and sets the tone for the grounded record. Next up is the catchy track “Blame” which features a bluesy guitar and pleasant piano. With simple yet catchy lyrics this song is hard to shake once you hear it. “Shadows of the Sun” is heavily influenced by the 70s and is one of the brightest spots of the record. The album is a great display of musicianship and variety. Although if you have seen Ian Lee play, you know he can play a lovely violin, something this record did not have quiet enough of for me. Fine Fellows is a proud product of San Marcos, Texas. Keep a look out on the website to see the fellows play live in and around San Marcos.
